Who are we?
We’re a small team of experienced horse photographers and make-up artists from Berkshire led by Alec Whitby and Lucy Gale.
Our Mission!
To get you out of your riding gear and into your favourite clothes. To ensure you and your horse both look gorgeous for some beautifully different equine portraits to last a life time.
So what happens?
We start with a pre-shoot consultation over the telephone to establish your preferred style and help you decide on the best location for your portrait. On the day of the shoot we visit you at your chosen location. Our trained make-up artist is on hand to give you a make-over. During your shoot you have an option to change into there different outfits, this gives your photos more variety. If there’s a look that you’d like to portray, bring along some pictures. When you’re ready, it’s time to star in your own fashion shoot. You photographer will have found their favourite locations around your yard and will then guide you through your shoot.
How do I see the results?
After a careful editing process the selection of your best photos will be ready to view at our studio in 7-10 days. You are invited to bring friends and family with you to help choose your images.
How much does it cost?
Our weekday sessions start from £80. This fee covers the pre-shoot consultation, our photography, complimentary makeover, photo editing and your viewing. We also carry out shoots on Saturday mornings which start from £150. We do travel anywhere but travel expenses will be added i.e. 40p per mile in the UK.
Can a shoot and photo package be purchased as a present?
Our range of gift packs are a great present idea. From a shoot and mounted print pack through to the complete package of shoot with frames, albums and canvases.

While Centaur specialise in Equine Portrait Photography, we have also been lucky enough to be the Official Photographers to Guards Polo Club, the most prestige Polo Club in the world for the last 5 years. We get to photograph the world's greatest Polo of which, amongst others Cartier International Polo and The Queen's Cup Polo are published in The Guards Yearbook and Ten Goal Magazine.
