About Our Photo Shoots

Who are we? We’re a small team of experienced Horse & Dog photographers from Berkshire led by Alec Whitby and Lucy Gale. Our Horse Photography always takes place on location but our photography studio is dog friendly so you can choose to bring your canine friend to us or we will come to you.

The New Equine Fashion Shoot - With Make-Over
Our Mission! To get you out of your riding gear and into your favourite clothes. To ensure you and your horse both look gorgeous for some beautifully different equine portraits to last a life time.

So what happens?
We start with a pre-shoot consultation over the telephone to establish your preferred style and help you decide on the best location for your portrait. On the day of the shoot we visit you at your chosen location. Our trained make-up artist is on hand to give you a make-over. During your shoot you have an option to change into there different outfits, this gives your photos more variety. If there’s a look that you’d like to portray, bring along some pictures. When you’re ready, it’s time to star in your own fashion shoot. Your photographer will have found their favourite locations around your yard and will then guide you through your shoot.

Equine Portrait Shoots - This time your Horse is the star of the show
Our Mission! To capture the unique character of your horse in a way you have not seen before using natural or flash lights.

So what happens?
As with the fashion shoot we start with a pre-shoot consultation over the telephone. This helps us establish where and how we can photograph, is it one or four horses, do you have indoor facilities and can you make us a cuppa when we get there! We normally talk through what your requirements are i.e. are you looking for one big canvas that looks like and oil painting or lots of little prints in an album to show the different personalities of your horse. On the day of the shoot, while your horse is happily munching on some hay we will spend some time setting a studio up in an indoor arena or look at lighting your horse in a field for a more edgy shot. Either way we don’t want boring show snaps...if you are looking for arty then we can help.

Canine Portrait Shoots – Not just for Christmas!
Our Mission! To capture true charismatic portraits of your dog that will last a lifetime. Either in our studio, at your home or on your favourite dog walk.

So what happens? We give no time limits but generally it normally take an hour for dogs to settle and show their true characters...for this reason the best photos normally happen at the end of the session. We are looking for a totally stress free experience for all of us when we photograph so the more familiar toys, dog beds and locations that can be used the better. Check out our galleries for some ideas and let us know some of yours...we love trying new things! There is no limit on the number of dogs on location but we can only really fit two large dogs in the studio at one time. Dog shoots make great present Ideas for that dog lover that has everything.
